  • Year: 1972
  • Description: An officer of the allied forces in the Middle East, Themis, parachutes into occupied Greece to organize a mission of sabotage in the area of Meteora. However, he is given away and falls into an ambush. A little before he breathes his last, he summons Fotis (a university student who had hidden him at his place) and urges him to go to Athens and meet a man named Aristeidis. Despite the mobilization of the Germans, who execute all the hostages they have arrested, including his father, Fotis goes to Athens. He meets with Aristeidis and agrees to work with him. Under the name Kostas Alexandrou, he takes a room in the house of the Papadimas family. He falls in love with their daughter Anna and becomes “friends” with the German Major Carl Asberg. He accepts the proposal that Carl offers him, to become their agent and entrap the rebels. In reality, of course, he misleads the occupiers regarding the blowing up of a munitions train. His fate is that of every patriot who sacrifices his life for his country.
